Description

Handmade Byzantine chain bracelet made of stainless steel and accentuating bronze links. This variant of Byzantine chain is made of a larger number of thinner rings, which accentuates the intricacy of the pattern. The bronze will develop a beautiful patina over time. The springless clasp opens by pulling the ends together and rotating.

Byzantine chain is a weaving pattern that dates back at least as far as two thousand years ago. The chain’s complex pattern of overlapping rings is reminiscent of the decorative knotwork patterns common in the traditional Scandinavian and Celtic art. This pattern is further emphasized by the larger number of thinner rings.

Amber has been used for jewelry since the Stone Age, and remains popular to this day. A moment in time, millions of years ago, is preserved in amber’s various shades of red, orange and yellow.
